Vermont Adult Learning
Description
Solar Panel Installation training is a hybrid model which combines online learning with hands-on experience, site-visits to solar panel installation jobs in the community, and job readiness skills. In the online lessons, participants will learn about ladder and lift safety, fall protection, mounting system safety, and solar electric safety.
Participants will receive a Record of Completion from Solar Energy International for the online 12 hour online class. Participants will also earn an OSHA 10 certificate from the OSHA Education Center for completion of the 10 hour online course.
During site visits, participants will observe different stages of solar panel installation. Participants will also have the opportunity to handle the materials and equipment used in solar panel installation, practice handling solar panel modules, and put up ladders.
Students will also learn how to safely get on a roof and how the equipment is installed. During the job skills training, participants will learn about job expectations and time management, self-presentation, preparing for an interview and beyond, and communication and conflict in the workplace.
