The Master of Fine Arts in Writing Program is designed for students with a serious interest in developing professional skills in writing poetry, fiction, and nonfiction. The program prepares graduates for advanced work in the genres of fiction, poetry and nonfiction. Students delve into independent study and establish the disciplined practice of a writer’s life, while reaping the guidance and wisdom of dedicated, experienced mentors. The program honors multiple viewpoints, respecting all styles, forms, approaches and voices and enjoys the meaningful literary dialog they inspire. The Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults Program is designed for students with a serious interest in developing professional skills in writing for children in picture book, middle grade, and young adult literature.
