This program is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

Phlebotomists perform blood collection procedures, as well as transport and process blood samples. This training includes anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, lab procedures, safety, collection techniques, legal issues, and 10 hours of clinical observations. Class time will take place two evenings per week for three months.

Successful participation in this program is a way to prepare for the national Phlebotomy Technician Certification exam

This program is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

A dental assistant’s duties typically involve managing medical records, accounts receivable, and reimbursement, as well as billing patients and insurance, scheduling patients, and performing procedural and diagnostic coding. Each student will do online, self-paced course work and be connected to a regional dentist for clinical experience during the course work. You’ll also learn important foundational skills such as dental terminology and anatomy, as well as written and oral communication skills.

This program is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

This 30-hour course focuses on subjects critical to ensuring the safe and efficient use of natural gas including: Combustion Theory, National Fuel Gas Codes, Venting, Hazard Recognition, Carbon Monoxide, Electricity, and Natural Gas Appliances. The subjects will be presented through lectures, videos, demonstrations, and weekly tests. This course is not designed to train students to become service technicians, therefore students should have related field experience. Under the Fire Prevention and Building Code, there is a state requirement that anyone who installs, repairs or maintains natural gas equipment must obtain training and certification in natural gas. The Fire Prevention Division of the Vermont Department of Labor and Industry is the regulating body for this program. This class is required for State of Vermont Natural Gas Installer certification.

This program prepares for the following credential(s): Certified Natural Gas Installer

This program is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

This two-year program prepares students for a wide variety of health careers. Students are introduced to different job options, professional standards in health care, college-level medical terminology and human biology, and scholarly writing. Learning combines classroom experience, shadowing current healthcare providers in hospital and office settings, clinical experiences, guest speakers, and field trips.

This program includes the following credential(s): Licensed Nurse Assistant (LNA).

This program is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

This will prepare the students to apply for Licensed Nurse Assistant (LNA) licensure with the State Board of Nursing (VBON). The program is intended for individuals who are interested in beginning-level skilled positions in healthcare and immediate employment. Class time will take place two evenings per week for three months.

This program is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

Students will gain experience in the day-to-day operations of a working auto repair shop with real customers together with a systems-based classroom component. Through theory lectures, student-driven research, computer-based learning software, and lab training, students will spend time exploring each of the following systems: tools and equipment, preventative maintenance, engine mechanical, electrical systems, steering and suspension, brake systems, engine performance, fasteners, and welding

This program includes the following credentials: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Entry Level Certification-Automobile Service Tech., ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.

This program is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.

Students will gain experience in the day-to-day operations of a live diesel repair shop with real customers together with a systems-based classroom component. Through theory lectures, shop field trips, student driven research, computer-based learning software, and lab training students will spend time investigating each of the following diesel systems: engines, fuel injection, electrical systems, hydraulics, air brake systems, preventive maintenance, power tools, fasteners, and equipment. Students will learn diesel engine overhaul skills needed to enter the field as an agricultural, industrial and consumer products technician. Tractor trailer trucks and construction equipment maintenance are included in the program.

Natural Resource Management is a combination of Conservation Equipment Operation, Wildlife Management, and Forest Science. Through this varied curriculum, students learn skills that will help them take on careers and post-secondary training to keep our forest ecosystems in balance.
