With a focus on promoting health, preventing disease, and advancing global health, this two-year program expands your knowledge into healthcare information systems, palliative care, holistic healing, leadership and management, community nursing, and more. You’ll graduate ready to improve lives in new ways — all in an online nursing degree format that works for working nurses.
This program is part of Vermont State’s unique 1+1+2 track to nursing and is designed for students with an RN license and/or associate degree in nursing (A.D.N.).

Holistic Health | Bachelor’s Degree
One of the few programs of its kind in the country, the Bachelor of Science in Holistic Health will train you to provide advanced care in a wide variety of holistic health practices — including chiropractic, naturopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, yoga, herbalism, and more.
Our courses are primarily taught outside in nature, and there are opportunities to deepen your understanding of holistic health practices through internships. We also provide lots of hands-on interaction and direct experience with patients.
Interdisciplinary Studies | Bachelor’s Degree
This interdisciplinary studies program allows you to design your own customized program of study. Build the degree you want by merging your passions with academics. Working with your advisor, you will identify the areas you want to study, then submit a detailed program proposal describing the relationship between the areas of study you choose to pursue. As part of the program, you will complete an Extended Classroom Experience, which can be an internship or other applied learning experience to advance your education and career.
Early Childhood Education | Bachelor’s Degree
Vermont State’s early childhood education program is the only program in Vermont that is online; accelerated; and focused on infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. You can complete your bachelor’s degree in five semesters. All other programs recommended for licensure are traditional four-year programs, which are less convenient for students already working in the field. The program is designed so you can meet the requirements for licensure while maintaining a full-time position.
General Studies | Associate Degree
If you’re not sure about your plans, you can earn a respected and versatile associate degree while you follow your curiosity and explore different professions. This two-year associate degree in general studies exposes you to a range of disciplines and provides a solid educational base for transferring into a bachelor’s program or moving up the professional ladder. Dental Hygiene (Degree Completion) | Bachelor’s Degree
If you already hold an associate degree in dental hygiene, you can get your bachelor’s degree through this online program. A bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene will give you access to more educational and career opportunities, including jobs in dental hygiene research, sales, public health, and education.
Criminal Justice | Bachelor’s Degree
Our criminal justice program gives you extensive first-hand knowledge of the full criminal justice system. Graduates of the program have worked for the U.S. Secret Service, Interpol, and the Vermont Attorney General’s Office. They have also worked for social justice nonprofits, advocacy organizations, law firms, and law enforcement agencies. This program is student-centered, unique, and flexible. It allows you to focus on the areas of the legal system that are most interesting to you. No matter your focus, you will graduate prepared to start your career or pursue law school and other graduate studies.
