Cosmetology | License

In this 1,000 hour certificate program, students learn skills to become professionals as fashion photo stylists, makeup artists, Aveda Global Educators, retail sales specialists, hair colorists, salon owners, and more. Students also prepare for the state board exam to become a licensed cosmetologist in Vermont.

We currently offer a 3 day schedule, 24 hours per week (depending on start date), 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Six saturdays are required during senior hours for all cosmetology students.

Barbering | License

In this 750 hour certificate program, students learn skills to become professionals in haircutting and hairstyling and learn about owning their own salons. Students also prepare for the state board exam to become a licensed barber in Vermont.

We currently offer a 3 day schedule, 24 hours per week (depending on start date), 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Esthetics | License

In this 500 hour certificate program, students learn skills to become professionals in the areas of facial treatments and skincare, hair removal, make up, and more. Students also prepare for the state board exam to become a licensed Esthetician in Vermont.

We currently offer a 3 day schedule, 30 hours per week, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Nail Technology | License

In this program, students learn skills to become professionals as nail technicians, nail salon managers, or nail educators. Students also prepare for the state board exam to become a licensed nail technician in Vermont.

This course of study is a full 250-clock hour nail technology course, offered part time. A 2 day, 16 hours per week schedule is required to complete. This course covers units in both practical and theory applications. Classes are from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Barbering Crossover | License

This course of study is a full 150-clock hour barbering course, currently offered part time on a 16 hour, 2 day per week schedule.

We use Pivot Point curriculum along with an Aveda Curriculum supplement. Including chapters on study skills, history of barbering, professional image, bacteriology, infection control, implements/tools, equipment, anatomy/physiology, chemistry, electricity/ light therapy, properties and disorders of the skin, properties and disorders of the scalp, treatment of the hair/ scalp, men’s facial massage and treatments, shaving and facial hair design, men’s haircutting and styling, men’s hair pieces, women’s haircutting and styling, chemical texture services, hair coloring and lightening, nails and manicuring, barbershop management, job search, state board preparation and licensing laws.

Aveda also offers a series of career development classes and guest speakers. The barbering course covers units in both practical and theory application.
