Practical Nursing | Certificate

If you are new to the field of nursing and want to enter the workforce quickly, our Practical Nursing Certificate program is designed for you. This nursing education program will put you on track to earn a livable wage as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and prepare you to enter Vermont State’s associate degree in nursing program at the same time.

Construction 101 | Certification

Construction 101 prepares trainees for entry-level work in the construction trades. During this six-week course, participants earn the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 certification, National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) credentials, and receive job placement opportunities.

Each trainee has access to the necessary tools of the trade. Students practice being on a construction crew, working collaboratively with their fellow trainees. They work on construction projects as they would on an actual job site. Class time is split between hands-on learning, building projects, and classroom training.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core Craft.

STEM: Principles of Engineering | Certificate

Through problems that engage and challenge, Principles of Engineering students explore a broad range of engineering topics, including mechanisms, the strength of structures and materials, and automation. They also develop skills in problem solving, research, and design while learning strategies for design process documentation, collaboration, and presentation.

This program includes the following credential(s): ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.

Dental Assisting | Certification

You can train to become a dental assistant in as little as six months with an online certificate program through the Vermont Adult Career & Technical Education Association in collaboration with the Vermont State Dental Society. Plus, you can get paid as a dental assistant trainee while earning a certificate in dental assisting to get on a clear path to a high-pay, high-demand career.

Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) | License

This Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) course meets Vermont and New Hampshire requirements for licensure contingent upon passing the state exam. LNAs provide or assist with basic care or support under the direction of onsite licensed nursing staff. They perform duties such as monitoring of health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or ambulation of patients in a health or nursing facility.

This program includes or prepares for the following credential(s): Licensed Nursing Assistant.

Building Trades | Certificate

In Building Trades, students participate in a two-year program during which they construct a new home from start to finish. Students are exposed to all phases of construction, from planning to layout, estimating, and building. This is a real world/life experience for students to safely practice and learn work ethic and a new skill set.

This program includes the following credentials: National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Certificate-Construction Core, ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.

Design, Illustration, & Media Arts | Certification

The Design, Illustration, and Media Arts (DIMA) program at HACTC is full of creative thinkers. Through this program students explore the technology skills of a growing creative industry. Students use industry-standard Mac hardware with the most up-to-date Adobe software. They work through projects that introduce them to many different aspects of digital illustration, digital video production, digital photography, 2-D animation, and motion graphics.

This program includes the following credentials: Adobe Certified Associate-Photoshop, Adobe Certified Associate-Illustrator, Adobe Certified Associate-Premiere Pro, Adobe Certified Associate-InDesign, ACT National Career Readiness Certificate.

Autobody, Motorsports, and Customs | Certification

Autobody, Motorsports and Customs (AMC) in this program. The curriculum focuses on mechanics, body repair and replacement, sanding, masking, painting, and the use of high tech spray equipment. Students in AMC use top-of-the-line equipment and technology such as the DeVilbiss semi downdraft paint booth, PPG Aquabase paint mixing system, and a commercial quality vinyl cutting machine.
