The Masters of Fine Arts in Cartoon Studies Program at the Center for Cartoon Studies incorporates the curriculum of their One-Year Program for the first year, which centers around the fundamentals of cartoon studies including: writing, drawing, graphic design, screen-printing, and computer skills that relate to publishing. In the second year, the program revolves around a yearlong thesis project. The second year may be completed on location or by distance in a low residency online and correspondence program. The program requires a completed bachelor’s degree at the time of enrollment.

The One-Year Certificate Program at the Center for Cartoon Studies is intended for those with cartoon experience who wish to hone their skills further and work in an official program with the support of faculty and fellow students. Subjects covered include: writing, drawing, graphic design, screen-printing, and computer skills that relate to publishing. If students wish to continue their education past this program, the curriculum prepares students for the second year of the Two-Year Certificate Program.

Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) | Certificate
This certificate prepares students to use current and emerging technologies to ethically and responsibly collect, interpret, visualize, and share data in order to drive innovative decision-making across a variety of industries. Courses in this certificate provide foundational and applied skills in information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analysis and visualization. Students are prepared for careers in data science, artificial intelligence, and data management.
Students who complete the Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) certificate can apply those courses to the Information Technology (A.S.) program.
Pharmacy Technician | Registered Apprenticeship
As a pharmacy technician apprentices, students earn college credit, participate in on-the-job training, and start their careers in healthcare. Pharmacy technicians prepare prescription medication orders under the direction of a pharmacist. This apprenticeship also includes training in customer service and the chance to earn Customer Service Insitute of America’s Certified Customer Service Experience Professional credential.
After students finish their on-the-job training, they can also sit for the national assessment to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Entrepreneurship | Certificate
This certificate prepares students and aspiring entrepreneurs to have the mindset, skills and knowledge necessary to successfully launch, grow and manage a small business. Students will gain the entrepreneurial skills needed to start and run their own business or to be drivers of innovation and change in any organization.
Web Development | Certificate
Web presence today means more than simply putting a navigable site out on the web. Developers must plan strategically, creating dynamic, engaging, user-friendly sites while organizing and generating content to maximize impact. The web development certificate enables students to develop the technical competencies that are required to plan, develop, and implement websites that are both appealing and useful combined with the skills necessary to market ideas online.
STEM Studies | Certificate
This certificate serves as a pathway into CCV’s STEM Studies degree and prepares you for transfer to engineering or other technical degrees. The program provides a strong foundation in science, mathematics, and other academic skills. Flexibility within the certificate allows you to select courses and build skills necessary for your own career and educational goals.
Pharmacy Technician | Certificate
This certificate prepares students to work as a pharmacy technician under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Students will develop the skills and knowledge required of a pharmacy technician including filling prescriptions, proper storage and handling of medication, and professional customer service.
Medical Billing & Coding | Certificate
This certificate is designed for students looking for employment in the growing field of medical billing and coding and prepares students to take the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) examination for Certified Professional Coders (CPC). To obtain the CPC credential, students will be required to demonstrate on-the-job coding experience in addition to passing the CPC certification exam. Those who pass the CPC, but have not yet met the work experience requirement, will be designated as an Apprentice (CPC-A). Students should review the AAPC’s certification requirements for additional information.
