You can access VEP using MyFutureVT!
What can I do on Vermont Employment Pathfinder?
A resume or CV (curriculum vitae) is an important part of the job application process. VEP uses the term CV, but it is the same as a resume. By entering your experience in VEP, you are able to download a CV you can edit or send right to employers with your job application. CVs made with VEP can be tailored to the job you are applying for.
You can learn more about how to apply for a job on MyFutureVT here.
How to use Vermont Employment Pathfinder
It’s easy to get started. We recommend following along with the video tutorial.
- Create an account. You will need to create an account to use VEP. This requires a valid email address.
- Add your experience. When you add in jobs, hobbies, education, or volunteer activities that you have experience with, VEP will identify skills that are commonly associated. You can indicate how often you used a skill to help VEP connect you with jobs that use your strongest skillset.
- Explore careers. Once you add your experience, VEP will show you career fields that have the strongest ties to your existing experience. Click into any of the career fields to view open jobs in Vermont. You can save career fields that sound interesting to you to view again later. Viewing a career will also show you the skills that you have that are related to that career — or if you need more experience, show you what skills you need to gain to be a qualified candidate.
- Save your CV. CVs (curriculum vitae) are also known as resumes. VEP will use the information you entered to build a resume/CV that you can use to apply for jobs.
- Apply for jobs. Each job has different instructions for applying. Follow the instructions in the job description to apply or learn more.
