This program is intended for high school students attending from within the district. College credits may be available as part of this program. Students from outside the district or adults who are not enrolled in high school can contact the center to apply for this program, as well.
The HACTC Cosmetology program will provide students the skills and experiences they need to become licensed Cosmetologists. Completing 1,000 hours of study, students will master skills in hair design, nail and skincare, personal appearance, communication, and business management. Students will learn and put into practice these skills through demonstrations on mannequins and by working with fellow students and live clients in a salon setting.
This program includes the following credentials: ACT National Career Readiness Certificate. Successful participation in this program is a pathway to eligibility for the Vermont Licensing Exam to obtain a Cosmetology License.
CTE funding sources
For high school students attending from within the district, there is no cost to this program. For students from outside of the district and adults who are not enrolled in high school, local scholarships and other funding sources may be available.
