Support for Incarcerated Women

Vermont Works for Women (VWW) provides employment and career services for women who have a history with or are currently involved with the justice system.

Services are available for women at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility (CRCF) in South Burlington. Support includes a career resource center and career coaching. They also help women build skills, set goals, and develop and launch plans.

VWW takes a gender and trauma-responsive approach.

They offer a range of workshops to help Vermonters lead fulfilling and independent lives. Trailblazers

A pre-apprenticeship program in the trades for women and gender non-conforming individuals. Trailblazers requires no experience, is 7 weeks long, and offers:

  • Hands-on training covering core trades skills
  • Nationally recognized certifications
  • A safe and welcoming learning environment
  • Mentorship for career planning and apprenticeship placement
