SMAW Welding Training | Certification

This training is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well. It is strongly recommended that students have significant prior welding experience or have taken the SMAW Level I course as a prerequisite for this course.

Description

This training is intended for adult students. High school students may be able to apply, as well.

This advanced course is designed to enhance Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) skills and prepare students for taking a structural steel welder performance qualification test in accordance with the American Welding Society. This training is mostly hands-on practice with instructor supervision using the SMAW process in various welding positions, but students will also learn and understand basic welding symbols used in the trade.

Please note: there are prerequisites for this training and students are expected to wear leather shoes or boots, a long sleeve shirt, and safety goggles.

Upon completion of this course and with instructor approval and additional cost, students may schedule a welder performance qualification test(s) for American Welding Society Certifications in SMAW Plate.
